Two Tunics Free Clothing Bank
Located in the Basement of the former St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 8 Park Road, Musquodoboit Harbour, NS (enter through the doors around the back of the building)

Two Tunics began in November 2022 to provide winter clothing free of charge and was only going to operate in the winter months. The need has been so great that Two Tunics has continued to operate with 100% with volunteers, since November 2022 serving at the end of March 2026 over 9000 individuals.
Eastern Shore Food Bank Donations
On the first weekend of each month, parishioners are asked to bring to Mass nonperishable food items which will be donated by each church to the local food banks along the Eastern Shore.

Volunteers from Saint John of the Cross Parish, Staff and volunteers from the Old School Community Gathering Place, SchoolsPlus, all noticed both an increase in food insecurity and decrease in access to healthy food on the Eastern Shore and Musquodoboit Valley.
Collaboratively, they began meeting about the community fridge project approximately 2 years ago. Once the Old School was selected for the Musquodoboit Collaborative Food Network through their work with the Department of Opportunities & Social Development, funding was available for the fridge/freezer, the wooden structure, and three months of weekly groceries for the fridge/freezer/pantry. Once this funding is used, the fridge will be stocked by community donations, fundraising as well as committee members writing grants to receive more funding.
The Eastern Shore Community Fridge is a community-run food access initiative providing round-the-clock access to fresh, nutritious food for anyone who needs it. Built on dignity, trust, and mutual care, the fridge is here to support our community—no paperwork, no judgment, no barriers.
